Gay London Party Guide: Burlesque, Vogue Fabrics, ’88 And Hard Cock Life

The UK has been taking a heavy pounding from the elements over the past few weeks. Check out my top gay London event choices for this weekend, and you might be lucky enough to get one too…
Friday 10th January
Exposed: Beyond Burlesque at the ICA
Julie Atlas Muz
Fancy some nakedness and culture? Head to the ICA tonight for an exclusive presentation of Exposed: Beyond Burlesque, a film by Beth B.
The film features performances by Rose Wood, Julie Atlas Muz, Mat Fraser, Dirty Martini, Bunny Love, Bambi the Mermaid, World Famous ‘Bob’ & Tigger! These eight male and female artists use their nakedness to transport us beyond the last sexual and social taboos.
The bar at the ICA is lovely too, so there’s no excuse really. Runs until 16th January.
Saturday 11th January
’88 at Vogue Fabrics
Let’s Party Like It’s 1988! The year when house music showed the charts who was boss. When experimental electronic tracks sat in the Top 10 alongside Kylie’s early hits. When the second summer of love gave everyone a big smiley face.
Neil Prince and David Oh will be taking a trip back to the dance sounds of 1988, playing the greatest hits of house that are inspiring a whole batch of current electronic artists.
DJ David Oh
With these boys on the decks, you’re likely to get some lovely 80s pop too. So dish out your leggings and glitter and blow-dry you hair up big.
HARD COCK LIFE
Like homos? Like hip hop? Like it hard? Well you’re in luck, ‘coz “this one’s gonn be off the chizzzain.” The boys from HARD COCK LIFE are back for their first party of 2014, downstairs at the fabulous new Ace Hotel in Shoreditch.
JOSH COLE & CUMMY BEAR are DJing, with a pretty cool and exclusive guest list – you better add HCL on facebook if you want to get in. You know Momma don’t like that… Make out or pass out, you’re gonna have a good time here.
