September can be a funny month here in the UK. 1st September is heralded by many as the end of summer, but with temperatures in the 20s (C) this week, the sunglasses and T shirts are back on, and memories of summer have flooded back.
This week’s podcast is by London DJing duo, Done & Dusted, made up of Alan X and Louis Lennon. It could not be more spot-on for an upbeat end of summer mood. These guys’ combined skill and credentials are mind-blowing. Their sound is as hot as an August heatwave, whatever time of year you hear them.
Alan X has played alongside Danny Tenaglia and Ralphi Rosario at Roseland Ballroom NYC, in Berlin at E-Werk, for the Sydney Mardi Gras Harbour Recovery Party, at Priviledge Ibiza, and at Burning Man in Nevada. With London residencies including Crash, Beyond, Heaven, Salvation, PSP, Trade and DTPM, this man is a legend in the truest sense of the word.
Louis Lennon is resident DJ at Audio Orgy, plays at Bear Necessity and Tonker and has become known for his fired up style of music, which always has a feel- good, bouncy groove.
These guys individual styles are well matched: phat, funky, progressive with an uplifting tech edge. Over to the guys!
From the guys:
“So here is our September mix! It contains some of our biggest tracks we’ve been dropping all over the summer. After playing at the “As One in the Park” and “Summer Rites” Festivals in London this year, we were taken back by the great support and atmosphere from the crowds. With that in mind we wanted to put together a mix to showcase some of our favourite tracks.
“They come from all sides of the house spectrum from tech/progressive to straight upfront club house. With the summer slowly coming an end, and lots of great memories of us being on the decks, we wanted to leave you with a big room mix that will keep the party animals going right to the end of the summer. Enjoy!”
