unnamedDo any of you boys remember Koortwah? The ultra edgy high-art pop musician with a mind for lyrics and a bunch of songs that make you go “um….. ok then.” Well I loved his shit, I mean he wasn’t for everything but he was totally doing things his own way without inhibitions. He has a new name now, Jake Lore, and a new project and his stuff is still amazing. If you haven’t heard it yet then check it out.

“JAKE LORE is a New York-based pop singer-songwriter. Born in Montreal, Québec, Lore grew up in a christian fundamentalist household, but instead found salvation teaching himself how to play piano and guitar, and listening to artists like Massive Attack and Sinead O’Connor. In 2013, he was invited to record at DFA Record’s legendary Plaintain studio in Manhattan. That year, he put out his first series of dark, indie electronic demos produced by Matt Thornley (LCD Soundsystem) and Abe Seiferth (Yeasayer) under the moniker Koortwah. Less than a year later, Lore began collaborating with producer Eric Ronick (Panic! At The Disco) on “Born To Believe,” a bigger, brighter sounding EP of lyrical electronic pop. Jake Lore currently lives in Brooklyn, and Maru is his favorite internet-celebrity cat.”
