Is there anything not to love about Colby Melvin? Those adorable eyes, kissable lips, and of course, that body! But just when you thought he couldn’t get any better, we’ve got great news!  He’s branching out from underwear modelling and into design with his new clothing line. We had the awesome opportunity to ask this sexy, young man a couple of questions all about his new line!

What inspired you to create a clothing line?
I got my sewing machine about a year ago. I grew up sewing with my mom so it wasn’t something completely foreign. I live a very fast paced life and I wanted something to do as a hobby. So I decided I’d take up sewing. I started just making things that I wanted to wear. Then people started asking me to make things for them. Here we are just a short time later! I never intended for this to become a job or career path, but sometimes the best jobs we have are the ones that just “happen” when you’re having fun.
What is your design process like?
I have several different sources of inspiration. All of the clothes I make are based off a story that I came up with about an aristocrat who loses everything and becomes a gypsy wanderer. My clothes are the story of going from Gypsy wanderer to le haute boheme (high class bohemian). Sort of a reinterpretation of what it means to grow up. I do sketch, but mainly just get inspired by different textiles. Most of the time I find fabric that reminds me of one of my friends and create something that is my interpretation of how they fit into my story.
Will you have any leather pieces?
I will be making leather pieces but in non-traditional ways. I accent a lot of my pieces with leather (faux leather) details.
Will your clothing line be sold online?
As of right now my clothes will be sold predominantly online. Once I receive enough funds, I’ll be able to start producing quantities big enough to sell in stores.
Have you created a name for your clothing line yet?
I’ve given it a lot of thought. My clothing line is me. It’s a very raw interpretation of my life and the way I view the world. I also put a lot of myself into each item I make. So I’ve decided to keep it what it is: “Colby Melvin.”
What would you like to tell GuySpy users about your clothing line?
My clothes are a meant to inspire confidence and individuality. They not only make you look great, but more importantly, feel great.
Share any “work in progress” pieces?
My instagram has all of my works in progress @colbymelvin
