The weekend is finally here! It’s time for a new weekly podcast or download brought to you by the hottest music talent around…
This week we have the gorgeous DJ Prince Persona, a guy who is as talented as he is sexy, with a super-hot niche of complextro/progressive house, mixed alongside prima donna pop.
Prince Persona has been in London for just over two years, and in that time he’s been at the forefront of a multitude of exciting, up-and-coming music and fashion events. From a residency at Daniel Lismore’s Shabba Dabba Da to a string of prestigious gigs at Mayfair clubs Whisky Mist and Morton’s, alongside regular appearances at Soho’s Shadow Lounge and Larry Tee’s Super Electro Party Machine at East Bloc London.
He played a headline set on the Main Stage at London Pride this year, and on that popstatic note, I’ll pass you over to him…
Prince Persona here. This is a live recording from my set at London Pride 2013 where I played at Trafalgar Square in front of 10,000 people. I hope when you are listening to it you can relive the moment with me and feel the energy and pride that was there on that day!
I made this podcast with the intention of combining glorified pop with personally and universally significant gay anthems. I started with a frenetic mash-up of some of the best songs over the last 12 months, led it through pelvis-thrusting stompers, then into some more cheeky and sassy 90s style remixes, drastically different from the original tracks.
Whenever I play, or make a podcast, I always try and incorporate the audience as much as possible. It makes me angry when DJs just play what they want. I like to tease a crowd, flirt with them and take them on a climactic journey while at the same time play remixes of music that they know are combined with under-the-radar tracks that they seriously need to hear.
Have a great weekend guys!
