Something For The Weekend: DJ Joe G

A great party is only as good as the music that’s played. For that reason, DJ’s are a key element for a successful event. No one knows this better than Joe Gauthreaux.

Southern stud DJ Joe Gauthreaux has played at clubs and parties all over the world and has had the pleasure of remixing artists like Tony Moran, Bimbo Jones and even Justin Bieber! It’s safe to say he knows one or two things about turning a party up.

This New Orleans boy and I have more in common than just good looks, we both enjoy Taylor Swift – True story.

Anyway, I bet you want to know more about his sound, his experience as a DJ and his plans for the future.

Over to you DJ Joe G:

My sound it’s a mix of tribal progressive house and vocals.  I love all kinds of music and coming to one of my sets is like listening to a really cool mixed tape. I go all over the place but try to have it make sense.

The best thing about being a DJ is probably all the places I get to travel. It allows me to see my friends and see places that I haven’t seen before.

The podcast you’re listening to is my top 20 tracks of 2013. It’s the first time I’ve ever done a podcast like that. It’s a good way to reflect on what the last year was and a mental note for myself of what tracks I should probably retire. New Years is a great time for that.

Right now I’m concentrating on my international tour schedule and going to places in the world I haven’t DJ’d yet. I’m also writing songs for a new solo project. Lots of big-stuff coming!
